Lever/Lever

Non-sprung: These do not include a mechanism that can spring the handle lever to a horizontal position.
To fix the door handle lever that is sliding it is necessary to locate the hole or pin that is the detent access point. This is usually a small hole or protruding ring, or rectangle, located on the handle base plate. Once you have located the hole for accessing the detent or pin, you are able to take it out using the help of a screwdriver.
Once the handle is in a horizontal position, you can re-install the screws and tighten them until the handle remains fixed to the base plate. You should also consider applying a threadlocking adhesive solution to the threads of the screw to increase the grip and stop them from becoming loose over time.
Drooping lever door handles could be the result of a number of factors. The most common cause is that the fixings have been over tightened and are putting stress on the lever bearing and causing it to pull against the door's face. It is also possible that the levers haven't been adjusted at the right angle, which causes compression of the latch mechanism and prevents it from fully springing into action.

Another common cause is that the sprung lever isn't working properly. This is typically due to the sprung not being in the right position within the backplate. To check if the handle returns to its horizontal position, simply turn it.
It is important to repair any door handles that are damaged as soon as possible. This could lead to excessive wear on the screws and the handle might fall off the base plate. You should also tighten any loose screws on a regular basis to stop them from becoming looser.
